Cosmopolitan

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz cranberry juice
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz lime juice

Method

Add everything to a shaker filled with ice, shake well, and double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime slice.

Espresso Martini

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh espresso, cooled
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup

Method

Chill the glass in the freezer for five minutes. Shake all ingredients hard with ice for 15–20 seconds to build the foam, then fine strain and serve right away.

Old Fashioned Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Bourbon or spiced rum to taste

Method

Warm the milk and cream. Whisk eggs and sugar, temper in the warm dairy, then cook low and slow until slightly thickened. Off the heat, stir in vanilla, nutmeg and your spirit of choice, then chill before serving.

Gulf Coast Paloma

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 3 oz grapefruit soda
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

Build over ice in a salted highball, stir gently once, and finish with a grapefruit wedge. The easiest thing to make with sandy hands.
